HMS Student Selected to Attend National All-Star Bowl | Community Spirit
Houston County, GA – Huntington Middle School student Jaylen Lowder was named an Offense-Defense All-American and invited to participate in the 2012-2013 Offense-Defense Bowl Week. The festivities will take place Dec. 26 through Jan1at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas. Jaylen was selected while attending the Offense-Defense Football Camp this summer.
Jaylen will play linebacker in an inaugural O-D Can/Am Games in which two All-American teams will play two All-Canada teams. Jaylen was selected for this honor from a group of young athletes numbering in the thousands across the country. He represented his school and town well, “easily validating the Bowl Selection Committee’s choice in tabbing Jaylen Lowder for the All-Star tilt,” according to a news release.
The Offense-Defense Youth All-American Bowl is part of a weeklong series of events to include the televised Offense-Defense All-American Bowl. This All-Star football game showcases 88 of the top high school seniors in the U.S. It has featured current NFL pros such as Cam Newton, Carlos Dunlap and Dez Bryant before they were collegiate stars.
This school year, Jaylen may be found on the field playing quarterback for the eighth-grade Hawks. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Jammy Lowder, he resides with his family in Bonaire.
