HOUSTON COUNTY, GA – Veterans High School’s cheerleading team won first place at the AAAA State championship this past Saturday.  This is Veterans’ second state title, having won in 2012.  The Varsity cheerleaders are pictured with their trophy, medals and championship t-shirts.

The cheerleaders are:  (from left, front row) Molly Lauritsen, Taylor Liszewski, Cortney Spraggins, Shannon Lowry, Makayla Pierce, (second row) Hannah Tapp, Jaeda Boyd, Baylor Zuniga, Rachel Allen, Ashley Theus, Andi Horton, Breann Bowden, Kaley Mixon, Kaitlyn Fowler, (third row) Brittney Dostie, Raven Bissette, Kiera Salone, Coach Maryann Fincher, Jahnae Jones, Haylee Duck and Natalie King. Not pictured is Coach Susan Nowak.

Fincher, varsity competition coach, exclaimed, “We are so excited to be back-to-back state champions!  The girls have worked so hard to overcome the injuries that plagued us at the beginning of the season.  This is a testament to their dedication, drive and determination. ”
