American Professonal Institute in Macon, Warner Robins and Milledgeville is closed for students Tuesday. All faculty and staff should report at noon.

BAE Systems at ParkPlace, employees should report to work at 11 a.m.

City of Centerville: Essential personnel should report at normal duty hours. All others should report not later than noon Tuesday.

Warner Robins' jobless rate jumped to 7.9 percent in November (preliminary), up from 7.4 percent in October, and 7 percent for November 2009, according to a Georgia Department of Labor news release.

2nd Annual Peach & Houston County Legislative Issues Survey Results Released

 

Of the 55 total responses from Robins Regional Chamber of Commerce, Perry Chamber of Commerce and Peach County Chamber of Commerce, some participants are members of more than one chamber. Some participants could have responded to more than one survey. There were 47 responses last year.

The three different chambers’ open-ended answers to the open-ended question, “What do you see as the single greatest challenge facing your business that can and should be addressed by the Houston and Peach County Legislative Delegation in Atlanta 2011?” are listed below.

36 Robins Regional Chamber members responded:

-Need More Quality Jobs

-State taxes... How can we go to no state tax like Florida.

-Defense cuts and BRAC

-Increasing visitation to our region: creating a desirable destination with funding to promote it; educating legislators that tourism is the 2nd largest industry in Georgia.

The Robins Regional Chamber of Commerce hosted its final Ribbon Cutting of the year for Pediatric Dentistry of Central Georgia on Tuesday, December 14, 2010.
