Chamber’s Aerospace Industry Committee to Host 10th Annual Robins AFB Requirements Symposium | Business
WARNER ROBINS, GA – The Requirement Symposium, co-sponsored by the Robins Regional Chamber of Commerce Aerospace Industry Committee (AIC) and Robins AFB, is a unique three day event where senior leadership at Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex comes together with industry leaders to share their current and future requirements. The 2012 event is scheduled for Nov 7th - Nov 8th at the Agricenter in Perry, GA. The theme for this year’s symposium is “Celebrating a Decade of Air Force and Industry Dedicated to the Warfighter”.
The driving force behind the Requirements Symposium is unprecedented cooperation between the Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex and its Industry partners to provide the best possible support for the Warfighters. By laying out their vision and requirements for the foreseeable future the leadership and senior managers at the Air Logistics Complex give insight to their aerospace industry partners and allow them to prepare for future capabilities and services that will be necessary to carry out their mission. This information sharing is very important as the Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex signed contracts worth a total value of $5.34 billion in 2011.
In addition, there will be pre-symposium activities on Nov 6th at the Century of Flight, Air Museum. On Nov 6th from 1200-1900 there will be approximately 50 vendor display booths. There will also be an evening social at the Century of Flight from 1700-2000. Although the Nov 6th pre-symposium activities are not co-sponsored by Robins AFB, they are open for Robins AFB employees to attend.
Last year’s symposium was an enormous success! Attendees were very enthusiastic and supportive about attending future symposiums. There were nearly 900 participants’ total, including 475 attendees from the industry representing over 300 different companies from all over the USA and Canada.
Following the opening ceremony, the breakout sessions will begin. These sessions include over 35 breakout briefings which provide details for future requirements and other information helpful to contractors. These sessions are led by the resident subject matter experts at Robins AFB which ensures attendees have direct contact with program managers, engineers and other decision makers with detailed information on the many ongoing and future programs. In addition to the requirements briefings, we’ll have informational briefings that will teach contractors how to better market themselves to the Government. We’ll also have briefings from the Georgia Tech Procurement Assistance Center and the Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) office. The symposium will conclude on the afternoon of November 8th with closing comments from Col Mitchel Butikofer (Commander, Installation Commander, Robins AFB).
For ten straight years in partnership with Warner Robins ALC the Aerospace Industry Committee, part of the Robins Regional Chamber of Commerce, has sponsored the Requirements Symposium.
