NHS Presents Encore Performance of 'Jekyll & Hyde' | Arts & Culture
HOUSTON COUNTY, GA – Northside High School will hold an encore performance of its award-winning one-act play, Jekyll & Hyde, on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. in the Ray Horne Center for the Performing Arts. Admission is five canned food items. All donations will benefit the food bank of All-Saints Episcopal Church.
Northside High School won first place at the State One-Act competition for AAAAA schools with their performance of Jekyll & Hyde. This is Northside High’s seventeenth State Championship in the one-act competition since 1978.
Director and drama teacher Brian Barnett said, “The competition was especially tough this year, but the cast and crew truly created some magic on that stage and took the audience to another time and place. They really told the story. I didn’t see how any other production could be better. I was so proud of each and every student!”
Jekyll & Hyde is a musical based on the novella Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson. The musical ran on Broadway for 1,543 performances, from 1997 through 2001.
