Academy of Dance Opens Second Location in WR | Arts & Culture
WARNER ROBINS, GA- The Robins Regional Chamber of Commerce hosted a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the second location of the Academy of Dance and helped to kick-off its Grand Opening and Open House last Friday.
Located at 1109 D Russell Parkway in Warner Robins, the Academy of Dance has been a staple for dance in the Robins Region for over 40 years. The Academy brings the world of dance alive in its class offerings for ages 2.5 thru adults.
“Our adult class offerings are the largest available in Middle Georgia,” says Kim Rowley, owner.
Classes offered include Parent/Tots, Creative Movement, Preballet, Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Modern and even Belly dance.
“This new location allows us to expand our offerings to also include Guys Only Hip Hop, separate Teen and Adult Hip Hop classes, Pop n Lock classes, Contemporary Jazz and Street Jazz classes, Parent/Tot classes, and expanded levels for ballet, jazz and lyrical,” says Rowley. “We even have a room available for private lessons during the week, as well as Ballroom and Zumba classes, which are on the horizon, thanks to this beautiful new location.”
Rowley’s credentials include a BA in Psychology (cum laude) with dance and child development emphasis from Columbia College, SC. She holds a Dance Educators of America Certification, level 3 from the teacher’s training school at UNLV. Rowley is a former member of the Robert Ivey Ballet and the Columbia College Dance Ensemble, having performed in Spoleto, the World’s Fair, the Southeastern Dance Festival and the American College Dance Festival.
