WRHS Students Compete in Regional Construction Challenge | Events
Warner Robins High School (WRHS) students will compete in the regional Construction Challenge competition this Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, in Atlanta. High school teams from Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee are competing.
The competition begins at 10:00 a.m. and the closing ceremony is scheduled for 6 p.m. WRHS students hope to qualify for the international finals which will be held in March.
The Construction Challenge requires students to use innovation, mathematics, engineering and design skills. It is connected to an industry actively looking for talented and motivated individuals for a wide range of well-paid jobs.
Students who participate in the competition will learn about interesting and lucrative careers such as engineering, project management, service technicians, and marketing.
Regional Rallies are being held in nine locations: Atlanta, Chicago, Cincinnati, Dallas, Enid, Okla., Milwaukee, Richmond, Seattle and Toronto. The top 24 teams that advance from regional will compete at the CONEXPO-CON/AGG exposition in March in Las Vegas. The Atlanta event will be held at the Atlanta Carpenters Training Center located at 3500 Atlanta Industrial Dr. NW.
