Toddler Killed in Kathleen Driveway Accident

A 21-month-old toddler in Kathleen was killed after deputies say she was run over by her grandfather's truck.

Michael Crean, age 52, was working outside the family's home at 200 Martin Terrace Thursday when he decided to move his 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche, according to Captain Robert West.

West said Crean was unaware that his granddaughter, Lily Elizabeth Crean, had come outside. He said the toddler was killed accidentally when her grandfather backed up his sports utility vehicle and ran her over.

Authorities say Lily Crean was killed immediately.

West said the 911 call came at 9:42 a.m. and by 10 a..m., police were on the scene but the toddler was already dead.

No charges are expected against Michael Crean, according to West.
