Houston School Board Honors Years of Service

Houston County Board of Education recognized teachers and staff who have been with the school system for more than thirty years.

The ceremony on October 19th honored employees who have devoted 30 or 35 years of service to the children of Houston County.

Seventeen teachers and staff members were recognized and received a certificate of appreciation and a small gift from H.E.A Federal Credit Union.

The guest honored said they were excited to be recognized for something they enjoy doing.

"Teaching is in my blood, it's just what I do. It defines me," said Deborah Dean who has taught for 30 years.

"I just love being around the kids and the teachers," said Emma Ward who has taught for 35 years.

The reception for the event was sponsored by H.E.A. Federal Credit Union.
