First Presbyterian Day School Wins Robotics Competition

Students from the First Presbyterian Day School in Macon, GA hold the First Place Trophy they won at the STARBASE ROBINS FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Lego League Regional Robotics Tournament at the Museum of Aviation January 8, 2011. 

The group beat out 36 other teams at the Museum which was the location of one of three regional tournaments held in Georgia.

The team also won an award for Best Robot Performance.

The FPD Day School “Team Red” will now compete at the FIRST Lego League State Tournament to be held at Georgia Tech on January 29, 2011. 

This year’s tournament theme was Body Forward which focuses on medicine. 

Students competed in three rounds of competition with a robot they built themselves to complete tasks on a large competition board. 

They also gave two presentations about medical research to a panel of judges.
