Warner Robins Police Investigate Racial Slurs

Warner Robins police say they're investigating racial slurs spray-painted on a home.

The home is located on Hackamore Lane.  That's near Robins W Parkway and Watson Boulevard.

The words on the home read, "A redneck Nazi white supremist black people hating person lives here."

Video Journalist Allen Lincoln reports that most of the spray paint was covered or cleaned up on Sunday afternoon.  He says a Warner Robins police cruiser was outside the home.

Pugh says a couple of cars at the home were vandalized.

As of now, Pugh says the charge would be criminal trespass.  She says detectives will likely further investigate Monday.

No police report was available on Sunday.

WRALL Honors Sisters Killed In Car Accident

Warner Robins American Little League players and fans mourned the loss of two of their own Saturday.

Hundreds gathered for the annual season opening ceremony at Snellgrove Drive in Warner Robins. Little League leaders started the ceremony with a tribute and moment of silence for sisters 17-year old Leslie and 11-year old Bridget Sullivent, who died after their car crashed Wednesday.

A wreath in the design of a baseball and showing Bridget's Little League uniform #7 stood on the mound, where Warner Robins Little League President Jimmy Dunn says the star pitcher and her sister Leslie, a former player, led by example.

Dunn told the crowd,"It is common knowledge that these girls loved three things in life: the Lord, their family and softball."

Leslie and Bridget's parents, Melva and James "Sully" Sullivent attended the ceremony with family and friends. They wore T-shirts printed with the girls' photos and jersey numbers.

Nearly 200 Honored At Hometown Heroes Salute

Nearly 200 National Guard airmen were honored at Robins Air Force Base Saturday.

Men and women from the 116th Air Control Wing and their families were recognized during the Hometown Heroes Salute ceremony.

They received a framed letter of appreciation signed by the Air Force Command Chief.  Family members were also given small tokens of thanks.

Honorees say they are grateful for the event.

"It's great that the community recognizes what the people do and what our families do for our community and for our country," said Lt. Colonel Robert Nash with the Georgia Air National Guard.

Those honored at the event each served on the war front within the last two years.

Racers Reunite At Middle Ga. Raceway

For the first time since it closed in 1984, rubber met the asphalt on the half-mile track of the Middle Georgia Raceway in Byron.

Nascar Hall of Famer Bobby Allison was the Grand Master for Friday's Racer's Reunion on the very track he won a Grand National title on in 1971.

"It was quite a special day for me," says Allison of the win.

He says when cars like the 1960's Chevrolet on display were cruising the tracks, racing was a very different game.

"Back in those days the fans could come in to the pit area," recollected Allison. He says as the crowds picked up, the security tightened up, cutting off drivers from the fans.

But Friday night's event was a chance to experience the world of racing the old-fashioned way-- feet first, climbing in to the cab of a vintage race car.

JAPAN DISASTER: Warner Robins Mother in Japan Felt Quake

Warner Robins mother Antoinette Pitts is one of thousands who felt the catastrophic earthquake in Japan.

"My car started feeling funny, you know? I was trying to figure out what was going on with the car, so I shut the engine off and it felt like it was lifted off the ground," said Pitts.

Pitts says she's teaching at the Yokota Air Base for the Dept. of Defense.  She moved to Yokota last August with her six-year-old daughter Aislinn.

The quake struck just outside of Sendai. That's more than 200 miles from Yokota, but the effects could still be felt, said Pitts.

"I looked up, and that's when I realized all the other cars in the parking lot were moving as well, like some of the light fixtures and some of the ramps, everything was moving and swaying," she said.

Houston Schools Remember Sullivent Sisters

As a soccer and softball player, Leslie Sullivent, was the school's most "motivational" athlete, her Veterans High School coaches say.

Her 11-year-old sister, Bridget, recently started to help manage the high school soccer team, and coaches say the two were best friends.

"I'm just happy they're together, I know that up there they're going to be watcing all of us down on the softball field and all their friends," says softball coach and Mossy Creek Middle School Physical Education teacher, Amy Gauntey.

Friends, teachers and staff in two Houston County schools today are mourning the two sisters, who died after a Wednesday night wreck on Highway 96 in Bonaire.

Leslie Sullivent was a 17-year-old junior at Veterans. Bridge Sullivent, age 11, was a sixth grader at Mossy Creek Middle School.
